Adaptive loft issues

Post by lovedayt »

I am trying to model an adapter from a 2.5" vacuum hose to a Dewalt 1/4 sheet sander and am having issues.
I can build 4 sketches that have profiles that I want at different sections of the loft.
If I apply the loft to all the sections, it works but it splines the curves so the sleeve that goes on the tool is not a pure(straight) extrusion but a adapted extrusion. If I do a loft from sketch 1 to sketch 2 and then do an adaptive loft between sketch2 and sketch3 the loft looks fine while drawing it, but it disappears when I apply the change.
what I haven't tried is to create the adaptive loft in the middle and do ordinary lofts on either side to match the sleeves at either end of the adapter.
What am I doing wrong?
<Solved> each new object on a plane requires its own sketch.

Hard to say without the model.
It is necessary to draw inner and outer loops for alll sections in the same sequence; either for all sections inner first then outer or for all sections vice versa.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

this is a normal situation: if you loft between several circles of different diameter, the resulting pipe squirms like a snake
The solution: you draw a sketch with the profile of the pipe and rotate it with Rotate

The pipe I'm trying to model is a circle at one end and a slot at the other. I'm adapting a dewalt palm sander to a 50mm hose.Image I added a sketch to the adaptive loft, drew the two slots that define the oval and then lofted it. my issue now is that the last loft goes the wrong direction and if I reverse it it disappears.

known issue: all sketches must be drawn in the same order
inside then outside line (or vice versa)
