Fillet creates artifact in model

Post by asimov-solensan »

Hello,

I don't know how to complete this design. This is the housing top for a device I'm building. The body shows no issues before the fillet (screenshot2.png).

Almost finished, I just want to create a fillet in the inside and then in the outside to give it a rounded shape on three of the four faces.

The inside screenshot looks good but it creates that ghost wall (screenshot1.png) that forbids me to work anymore with the model.

Summary: I want to create a 20mm fillet in the inside of the model (and after that another fillet on the outside).

The body shows no issues. Is this with the Check geometry tool?

It is likely reducing the fillet radius might fix it.

you do "Refine" = true and it's good, provided you stay in PartDesign and you will have to redo the last sketch victim of TNP

Apologies but I do not understand you.

I can set refine = true on the last pocket feature but I get the same result.

I made a refined copy of the model with the same result.

I don't understand what do you mean by "stay in PartDesign" I cannot set any fillet in that screen.

In your picture it seems you got it fixed but I'm unable to achieve.

PartDesign_Fillet 20mm inside and 23mm outside : OK.

Do you know something about TNP ? (You should not sketch upon face)
You cannot modify anything (= changing the number of faces) because you will break everything.

(You should Pad without any holes.)

Pocket017 is very brutal.

First time I hear about TNP, thanks for sharing.

I'm indeed abusing of this kind of modifications and was completely unaware of the problem.

I really appreciate your comment, I got my problem fixed and also learned how to make better models.
