Both cfMesh and snappyHexMesh seem to make rectangular cells but with a diagonal through the cell. Is there a way to remove that diagonal so the cell are pure hexagonal cells with all faces at near 90 degrees (at least near center)?
I am used to using SimScale and in that software, snappyHexMesh always seems to generate cells without any diagonal.

Re: Diagonal Through Rectangular Mesh Cell
This is just a matter of visualization. If you open the mesh in ParaView, it will look normal: viewtopic.php?t=74612
Re: Diagonal Through Rectangular Mesh Cell
Ok, then is there a way to turn that off in the visualization? It is difficult to tell where the "real" mesh is.
Re: Diagonal Through Rectangular Mesh Cell
I don’t think it can be disabled. But you can press the button to open the mesh in ParaView so you don’t have to import the mesh there manually.

Re: Diagonal Through Rectangular Mesh Cell
This isn't going to happen any time soon as neither the FEM mesh visualisation nor the mesh workbench are currently able to display the polyhedral cells/faces generated at the refinement boundaries.
