First project & 3-D print: pottery stamp

Post by MobiusStrip »

I bought a Prusa Mini+ 3-D printer years ago. It sat in its box for a year before I even assembled it. Then I set it up in my garage, printed a Benchy, and that was it for another year.

Then my girlfriend started seriously getting into pottery, and asked for a stamp to monogram her work. That was the motivation I needed to learn FreeCAD. I have a licensed copy of SolidWorks, but no Windows computer. Plus I love the idea of FreeCAD, so... up the learning curve.

In a few days I've learned enough (not without some cursing) to make a coherent model that converted to STL seamlessly and produced exactly what I wanted from the printer. I'd like to thank those who provided help in this forum!

She signed a piece of paper, which I scanned and then converted to SVG. I imported the SVG into FreeCAD and jumped through the hoops to make parts.
