Re: Direct Modeling - The Future of 3D Design
Of course. And this is the reason, why companies dismiss all their direct modeling lately. I hope the sarcasm undertone arrives. Try to change in a direct modeling program the pitchhole from 2 to and other number, then you will see. And this is only the the lowest example.

Re: Direct Modeling - The Future of 3D Design
the nice thing about the parametric freccad is that "everything" is possible, including architecture and direct modeling. also the mixing of workflows and workbenches. freecad rocks
Re: Direct Modeling - The Future of 3D Design
the first 2 minutes 1/2 can be done with a single sketch and a single revolution, probably in less than a minute. And fully parametric

yes, everyone can do it as they want in freecad. in other systems you have to deal with what is possible. i don't know of any 3d system with more options than freecad

@thomas-neemann What do you want to do with showing us this? If you are asking whether I like direct modeling the answer is yes, I like it. Direct modeling to me can be freedom. I think that DM certainly can help. But paddle is doing that, I think with his WB.
