Orientable rectangle in Sketcher
Hello all, I've been using Freecad recently for some frame design and pricing, and let me congratulate all of you for a great product and community project.
This is a small request, rather than a question, since I guess if this was available it would be pretty obvious, so I didn't post in the help section (although I didn't see a Sketcher forum).
You see, I often need to draw rectangles in Sketcher that are oriented obliquely, so the rectangle tool doesn't help because it gives vertical and horizontal constraints by default, whereas what I need is four (actually three) orthogonal constraints on the edges. This sounds like it should be relatively simple to do? Is this the right channel for this sort of request?
Lots of thanks!

I'm curious what you mean by obliquely? At an angle to what?
What does that word mean in FreeCAD? Look in the Glossary.

Re: Orientable rectangle in Sketcher
I wonder if you can use the polyline tool and the 'M' key option, which makes the next segment perpendicular to the previous one.
Select the tool. Click for start of first line. Click for end of first line. Press 'M'. Click for end of second line. Press 'M'. Click for end of third line. Press 'M'. Click anywhere for end of final line. Select last point and first point and apply coincident constraint.

I think this has been on the request list for quite a while, but has not yet been completed.

It's all there:OscarLazoA wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 5:34 pm I often need to draw rectangles in Sketcher that are oriented obliquely,
- Create a normal rectangle
- use Sketcher RemoveAxesAlignment.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

Not the same thing, but it will do.chrisb wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 8:41 pm

Re: Orientable rectangle in Sketcher
Brilliant, that was just what I needed. That's far less clicks than polyline + orthogonal constraints, and just a few clicks more than the ready-made tool I had in mind. I guess I shouldn't go about asking for features on my first post. Lot's of thanks.chrisb wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 8:41 pmIt's all there:OscarLazoA wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 5:34 pm I often need to draw rectangles in Sketcher that are oriented obliquely,
