I'm trying to get the hang of the a2plus workbench and have successfully made a crank. But what I really want to make is a lever or a knob. Here are two mechanisms that are identical save for the one on the right does not have a crank handle attached. I can move the radial part (spinner) by grasping it or the handle. But I can't move the one on the right. What did I miss?

It's a long time since I used A2Plus so I updated to the current version but it looks like a bug in the workbench to me. It's as if the hole in the opposite end of the spinner is having some unwanted impact on the solving routine. @dan-miel Would you care to correct me?
I've gone through the other assembly workbenches, and this seems to be the only one that allows me to manually move things around. Am I missing an alternative to a2plus for this purpose?

it is a limitation of the A2 Plus where the second piece is always stuck to the first and it is necessary to have a third piece for the second to move
normally the first piece is fixed in the world and the second is tied to the first until a third piece appears and so the movement of the second happens
