You can try to open it but... well... i wonder how long it will take for you...

well worth waiting for
using

Code: Select all

OS: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) (KDE/plasma)
Version: 0.21.0.31917 (Git) AppImage
Build type: Release
Branch: master
it took almost 12 minutes ;)

I also tried opening it with Link branch and it took less than 6 minutes to open :o
(but maybe because it didn't complete recomputing? - there were few problems  )

Code: Select all

OS: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) (KDE/plasma)
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 2023.131.26244 +5365 (Git) AppImage

BTW - do you have any drawings for Px48 ? or (perhaps even more interesting...) for Px29
Would love to have a go at modelling either in FreeCAD... :ugeek:

There could be some errors - some parts was made quite long time ago, other FC versions and so on.

Of narrow gauge steam i've got only Tw53 in my library. And maybe some general drawings of Kp4.

Funny ;)
it's easier to get Kp4 drawings from China or Soviet Union... than it is to find Polish drawings... for Px29 or Px48

All the guys there in Poland are like gardener's dogs (Polish idiom  )

with the exception of course of: http://plany.zonk.pl/
Thank you for sharing!

I must admit that it’s really impressive, especially the level of detail of the bogie. Could you share the files on GrabCAD too ? More people would find them there.

Got similar results. 4m 50s with recompute and 1m 50s without. Also got some recompute errors.

Code: Select all

OS: Fedora Linux 37 (KDE Plasma) (KDE/plasma)
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 2023.131.26244 +5365 (Git) AppImage
Build type: Release

Look at that multi-threading during recompute:

This looks great! Especially details, threads, shims...

Edit:
Even better in VR:
