When I use the command d,d,6 the tree view appears for a second and then disappears. If I select tree view in the view panels menu I get the same reaction. I bet there is a setting somewhere to fix this, but I haven't found it yet. Can someone help?

it could be because you have set the panels to be only visible when you are using them?
"show on edit" option ?

also - have used F4
that will make panels disappear
