Flow testing simulation in FreeCad?
Does anyone know how to flow bench simulation in freecaad? I'm building cylinder heads for my personal use and I'm planning to simulate flows on my cylinder heads, anyone know how to? Thanks.

Re: Flow testing simulation in FreeCad?
It's done using an external workbench CfdOF along with it's dependencies, it's not a 2 minute job to get working. There's a dedicated subforum for CFD.

Moved from Open discussion.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

Here you can find some tutorials for the CfdOF workbench:

Re: Flow testing simulation in FreeCad?
There are 2 CFD-Solvers for fluid-mechanics available in FreeCAD:
openFOAM (via cfdof-workbench) and Elmer-multiphysics (via FEM-workbench)
Some time ago there was a discussion in the german forum about optimizing an inlet-manifold
for an engine. This was really hard stuff.

Some hints:
You must mesh a fluid domain, that means the inner part of your body where is nothing.
The construction of an "inverted" body is necessary.
Simulating the moving parts (piston) is possible, but not via the FC-GUI.

For a realistic simulation you need an appropriate fine mesh, you are in the range of some mio cells.
Computing power is needed.
But lets give it a try...

Hello, I'm problems with cfdof dunno why and it won't run.
