install ESI OpenFOAM v2206 with MS MPI

Post by phsieh2005 »

Dear CFDOFers,

I am looking for help with installing the ESI version of OpenFOAM v2206 on CFDOF with MS MPI.
I have installed the blueCFD 2020 version and worked fine. But, I am interested in using the ESI version. After installing the ESI v2206, everything works fine and I can run the case with 1 CPU core (serial run). But, when I tried to run in parallel using multiple CPU cores, the case was decomposed successfully, but, simulation did not work: simulation exit with error. I think, somehow OpenFOAM v2206 can't find MS MPI. How can I fix this type of problem? Thanks!

Hi Pei-Ying,

how did you change change the number of CPUs?

You can change the number of CPUs in the CfdOf solver. Did you do that? Or did you change the number of CPUs in the files "Allrun" & "ControlDict" of OpenFoam?

I am using ESI-OpenCFD v2206 for 6 month on a Window 10 computer, and I never had issues running the solver parallel.

Hi

Yes, I have done all those. I installed openfoam v2206 for windows and no issues. I ran using blueCFD 2020 version in CfdOF and no issues. The only issue is when I run openfoam v2206 in parallel inside CfdOF. Running it in series in CfdOF was successful. Somehow, openfoam v2206 is not connected to MSMPI or wrong environment.
