Hi @Freakcad_User, how is your Python?
Maybe you want to have a look at Macro_TemplateHelper and try to adapt the macro to your specifications.

Re: Architectural style TechDraw Template
Hi @FBXL5 . Unfortunately my Python skills are nonexistent. I have read some about Python basics, and I’m getting more interested in learning, but I haven’t attempted to write any scripts yet. So many interests, so little free time! Thanks for pointing out that macro.

How do you draw the template? FreeCAD Draft wb? LibreCAD? Inkscape?
(I am not familiar with Inkscape and the like unfortunately)

Re: Architectural style TechDraw Template
I write them in a simple text editor as it is only quite simple XML code. Most tasks are juts copy and paste from a pre-existing template and tweaking values. Have a look at TechDraw_TemplateGenerator. But most of the times I use a macro similar to that mentioned in a previous reply.
I don't like the sometimes over-complicated outcome of inkscape.

Re: Architectural style TechDraw Template
I used Inkscape, and mostly used this tutorial as a guide:
https://wiki.freecad.org/TechDraw_TemplateHowTo
I actually started with a page that I had created in another CAD program, then converted that into pdf and then imported that into Inkscape. This worked pretty well for the line work (though I eventually redrew a couple items in Inkscape), but did NOT work well for the text. I ended up having to redo ALL of the text in Inkscape.

Re: Architectural style TechDraw Template
FYI, there is an interesting discussion developing on the TechDraw forum section about automating titleblocks and sheet indexes that I think is of interest to the production of technical drawings with regard to BIM. Here is the thread:
