I want to translate the Std ViewIvStereo... pages but have no clue what Iv could mean.
Please give me a hint if it is an abbreviation, or a typo and tell me what it represents, or that it can be omitted in translation.

check this page for example

I guess the Iv is part of the command, not sure.
Re: ViewIvStereo - What does Iv mean?
The Iv presumably is the abbreviation for Inventor (aka OpenInventor). But the Iv is only used in the command name as context for the menu and tool tip text, i.e. it shouldn't appear inside a translatable string.

Yes it is part of the interal command name = wiki page name. The menu item is called Stereo Off.david69 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 3:55 pmcheck this page for example

The wiki page gives no clue about the meaning of "Iv"
I just realised that it is iv not Lv. Could it be "interleaved view" then?
Re: ViewIvStereo - What does Iv mean?
.iv is the file extension for OpenInventor files and there this abbreviation comes from.
I think the fact that the Iv is part of the command name is because at the early days of FreeCAD the OCC viewer was used but due to performance issues and some other shortcomings we have switched to OpenInventor. So for some time two different viewers were used and to make sure that a command is specific to OpenInventor the Iv has been added.
No. There is also a command Std_ViewIvStereoInterleavedRows so that if "Iv" meant interleave the command would be "View Interleave Stereo Interleaved Rows".I just realised that it is iv not Lv. Could it be "interleaved view" then?
