I am accustomed to using the PART workbench, but this is an entirely different problem.
I am constructing a building on my property, and require a building permit. I have successfully pulled in a plat map using IMAGE, but so far have been unable to save it in FreeCAD. I'm not too worried about that yet.
However, I still need to draw the building on the plat map (in 2D). Which Workbench should I be using? Are there any 2D workbenches with layers?

the layers do not exist at Fc, on the other hand you draw the different floors on XY sketches placed at the right level of Z with sketcher Wb

I'm sorry @papyblaise layers do exist in Draft/Arch which is exactly what the OP requires for building models.

yes it's true, but I never use Draft to make wires, I always make mistakes while with sketches I'm more comfortable, question of experience
