I'm going through the "Creating a simple part" tutorial, [https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Creating_a_ ... PartDesign] and everything went well until I got to the section called "Second method using a datum plane."
I have created the datum and datum plane on the top face as instructed, and drawn a circle in the datum plane centered on the datum point. I have constrained the radius to the prescribed 5mm, and the sketcher says "fully constrained" in green font, but the sketch doesn't turn green, and if I exit the sketcher, the circle isn't visible.
What might I be doing wrong?

Sketcher_ToggleConstruction
Construction lines (blue) live only inside sketcher edit mode.
Provide your file next time.

Sorry for the oversight. The file is attached.
Re: Can't get sketch to validate
Selecting the circle, and then clicking on the Toggle/Construction button did indeed solve the problem.
I'd like to understand better what that means. In the tutorial, the previous method of centering the circle on the top face involved drawing construction lines. Does this mean that I was still in construction mode when I subsequently drew the circle on the to pface to creat the pocket?
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll look to see if there's some flag to tell me what mode I'm operaing in.

Re: Can't get sketch to validate
Yes. Play with it: toggle it when you have selected some geometry, and if you haven't.
The icons turn blue in construction mode. And as soon as you draw an element, it turns, well, blue.

Some tools are an ON/OFF switch. They follow you through sketches.
But all the icons are now blue so you cannot not see it.
