All,
I've just started using Assemblies (Assembly3) and am modeling something that will require several 2x8 boards of varying lengths. So far, I've modeled a 2x8 by itself in a file and gave it a certain length. If I add multiple instances of this 2x8 into my assembly, will I be able to make each one a unique length?

Re: LinkCopyOnChange in Assembly3
I see what you're doing there and that is obviously one solution. However, I'm thinking that is a little more than I'm looking for in this particular case. To refer back to my example, if I only have 4 or 5 2x8 boards in my model, is there a parameter I can turn on or turn off that will then allow me to go to that instance in the assembly and key in a unique length for each of my 2x8 boards? I'm also trying to understand how the "link copy on change..." parameters work. I can't seem to find good documentation on those particular parameters.
Many thanks for your feedback regarding the spreadsheet. That looks like a very elegant solution for my next project!

I thought video 2 might answer your problem, excluding assembly constraints.
