That's exactly the point. If you need it and you have a benefit do modell it, if not do not model it. That is the question you always have to ask yourself in BIM. In our company I do aks draftsmen very often ... Would you do draw this object in 2D drawing in this detail? If the answer is No, I ask: Why do you model this in 3D-BIM? In most of the cases this fits ... The long story is LOD ...
