Re: Challenges?
From what you got addition lines. I can not even imaging, from what there are additional lines. And this is absolutely independent from Sketcher or Draft. I hope, you did not copy it, but did an array (array creating is much much much faster, then copy), else a change of this is a pure nightmare.

Re: Challenges?
Er... what additional lines?
2min of work: no additional lines, no refine used

Re: Challenges?
in development and construction, not all dimensions are fixed before the modeling begins. this is also the problem with many tutorials and exercises, where a finished construction is often copied. in this case, e.g. the outer dimensions are only determined after the inner parts have been created.
Re: Challenges?
I would say it is another reason to use sketch - you can change any dimension and FC will recalculate shape accordingly.thomas-neemann wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 6:18 pm in development and construction, not all dimensions are fixed before the modeling begins. this is also the problem with many tutorials and exercises, where a finished construction is often copied. in this case, e.g. the outer dimensions are only determined after the inner parts have been created.

This have nothing to do with you other screenshot.
And what have this to do with? As @wieszak17 showed, this is done from zero very fast. Changing it need lesser times. (This writing takes surely longer!) There must be nothing fixed before the modeling begins, and this is absolutely normal in constructing, of course.thomas-neemann wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 6:18 pm in development and construction, not all dimensions are fixed before the modeling begins

Re: Challenges?
the construction is a rail for a server rack. the distances are not all the same. the sketcher then becomes very slow. I tried it.

Re: Challenges?
Did you look on the file? There is for the pattern exactly one sketch with one pattern shape. And this can be easily changed in the properties (or task). The same an do with Draft Array. The difference is only, you ave then to extrude it and then cut it away. But it is also fast changeable in the same way.thomas-neemann wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 6:26 pm the construction is a rail for a server rack. the distances are not all the same. the sketcher then becomes very slow.
