On mine M1 based it crashes regularly. So YMMV in case of the ARM builds.satefan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 5:02 pmI have installed Freecad (quoted link) on my brand new 16" M2 Pro - runs like a charm!edwilliams16 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 4:23 am https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Bund ... -py310.dmg runs fine on my M1 Mac as does

Re: FreeCAD on Apple M1
I have a MacBook pro m1 and the rosetta 2 is not installed. I tried arm64 one but it popped rosetta required dialog and refused to run. Get info reports it as an Intel-only bundle.edwilliams16 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 4:23 am https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Bund ... -py310.dmg runs fine on my M1 Mac as does
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Bund ... -py310.dmg under Rosetta.
The M1 build is about a month older. I haven't given it big workout - it's my wife's Mac, but I didn't find any problems.
FreeCAD on Apple M1 through Parallels 18 and Windows 11 (Arm version)
I have installed Freecad on M1 Mac Pro 16 inch on Parallels 18 and Windows 11(Arm version). It works buttery smooth in comparison to installing directly on Mac OS with Rosetta. On MacOS, zooming in and out is jittery and has pixelated artifacts appearing on surfaces when zooming in and out; overall performance is slow and clunky when installed directly on MacOS. On Parallels 18+Windows 11 none of that issue (well except for some minor issue like the Draft Constrain with Shift is not working, but that is just minor, you can work around that by pressing x or y, as needed.
Hope this helps.

Re: FreeCAD on Apple M1
I can not find the version on GitHub that works with Apple M1/M2. The link does not seem to exist. Could someone please point me in the right direction? I have been using FreeCAD for quite some time, and have now bought a M2 Macbook Pro. Never thought for a second I will run into issues.hsmeets wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 6:00 pmOn mine M1 based it crashes regularly. Re: FreeCAD on Apple M1
The link points to an older version. These are not kept for the developer version. Look at https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-AppI ... kly-builds for the latest ARM version.

Re: FreeCAD on Apple M1
I downloaded the file FreeCAD_weekly-builds-33719-2023-08-06-conda-macOS-arm64-py310.dmg
Attempted to install it, but my mac still says I need to install Rosetta to be able to use this .dmg file. I thought, it being an arm64 file, I don't need Rosetta for it? Or am I missing something?

Re: FreeCAD on Apple M1
Can you try again with the release version of 0.21.x? It should not require Rosetta: if it does I will rebuild it.
Re: FreeCAD on Apple M1
I have downloaded and installed the version you suggested and it is working fine now. Thanks
