Hello, does this allow design of bass guitars ? What about a 5-string bass guitar ? (sorry, I didn't yet install and test it)
try the Assembly4 workbench for FreCAD — tutorials here and here

Hi Zolko, yes it is for design of solid body guitars/basses. It supports any number of strings because the affected parameters are the distance between the first and last string at nut and bridge, and the string gauges. It also supports multiscale designs.

This WB was created when I was very noob in freecad, so many things can be improved.

Hello. First of all, thank you so much for your work. It is awesome and much appreciated. I'm excited to understand and use this powerful tool.

So I'm working on a guitar design using your workbench. The body imports well until I go to add pockets for pickups.

download/file.php?mode=view&id=247863&s ... 213b507ee8

Once I add a pocket for a pickup (object ID=h1_0_1000) or really anything else, my body hollows, I get an outline of my pocket, and a neck is all of a sudden added.

I'm guessing there is something wrong with the way I did my paths in Inkscape? Ever seen this before?

Files links are broken. Can you provide your svg files?

Thank you for your reply. I responded with a PM in hopes that my attached file will actually attach. I am happy to repost any resolution on the main board.

I apologize for my lack of sophistication w/the forum.

1. Your pocket path is not closed.

2. Body contour is not closed.

Once you fix that (closing the paths), it works:

Aargh. I knew it was something stupid I was doing, but I didn't realize it was THAT stupid.

Thank you for straightening me out, and I'm sorry to waste your time.
