Re: Assembly3 preview
Hi,
I do not find the new "AttachmentOffset" feature on my Assembly3 installation.
In addon manager I do not find any update (see the attached png).
Am I doing something wrong in the update procedure?
Thank you in advance,
Alessandro

Realthunder explains how to benefit from the update of this new constraint.

Re: Assembly3 preview
Hi,
the point is that in my toolbar I do not have the attachmentOffset, but only the offset constraint. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Assembly3 preview
I tried, but nothing changed.
I also tried to install assembly3 manually by copying the repository in c:\Users\<your_user_name>\AppData\Roaming\FreeCAD\Mod, as explained here: https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD_assembly3
Do you have any suggestion?
Which version should I have to have the new feature? I now have 0.11.3

Re: Assembly3 preview
Could it be that you just can't see the icon correctly due to your dark background? Maybe your FreeCAD info could give a hint...

Re: Assembly3 preview
Hi, thank you for your support.
In the end Itried uninstalling freecad completely (also deleting manually the c:\Users\<your_user_name>\AppData\Roaming\FreeCAD folder) and then I reinstalled freecad 0.20. Now the tool is present

Re: Assembly3 preview
Hi,
Back to trying Asm3 after a while (on 0.20.1 formal image) and want to say that I see a great progress since the last time (0.18 era).
A usage question:
Is there a keyboard/toolbar shortcut to move a newly added link to the Parts folder?
In large assemblies the new link is added at the end of the tree (after the Parts list and after the Relations list).
To move the new link to the Parts folder I have to fold both of the folders to have the link and Parts visible in the tree.
Having a shortcut would be extremely helpful in that case.
Thanks.

Re: Assembly3 preview
And additional question:
How would you constrain the wheels like those: On a channel like that: I can't find a proper constraint that will allow movement between plane/line on the channel and a cylindrical parts of the wheels.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Assembly3 preview
hi
I will use a point plane distance, with distance = radius of the wheel. of course the wheel will not rotate, but the movement will be ok
