Cannot get FreeCAD 0.21.1 to Run on Windows 11

I have been trying to get Freecad to work on my new machine (the reason I upgraded to a new machine was to do freecad modeling)

Machine: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics 3.20 GHz
OS: Windows 11 Home Ver: 22H2

Graphics Driver: NVIDIA
Driver Date: 3/9/2023
Driver Version: 31.0.15.2879

Running out of options on what to try. I have tried deleting the from one install source and tried another in case of a corrupted file. I have tried deleting the FreeCAD folder in AppData/Roaming.

The program starts to load and the disappears. There is a crash file in the Roaming folder with this info in it:

Have a look at the Known OS specific issues, especially those with graphics card or drivers.

If you're having trouble getting FreeCAD 0.21.1 to run on Windows 11, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try right-click on the FreeCAD executable file (e.g., FreeCAD.exe), select "Properties," and navigate to the "Compatibility" tab. Check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode" and choose a compatible operating system like Windows 10. Click "Apply" and then try running FreeCAD again.

I have tried the compatibility settings (It only has for 8 or lower) but that still crashed it with the same error. Even set it to run as administrator and got the same thing.

I am wondering if there would be any difference with Windows Pro vs Windows Home.

Absolutely will not be a problem with compatibility setttings. FreeCAD works fine with Windows 11, out of the box.

This appears to be related to graphics, since the last log entry before the error message starts is related to Qt rendering.

Follow the instructions in the known OS specific issues referenced by chrisb above and switch to software OpenGL

This is probably not a good long term solution, but it should indicate whether the nVidia driver is the problem.
