in my current project i have to create such pdf files with dimensions.
unfortunately i can't get a complex part as a step, but only as a mesh.
I tried to convert it per part into a solid, but had to cancel it because it was delayed for too long. a small test mesh resulted in confusing lines converted to techdraw.
Is there another possibility?
(WORKAROUND) Is it possible to dimension a mesh in techdraw?

TechDraw doesn't understand meshes yet. Yours is only the second request I can recall for drawing a mesh.thomas-neemann wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 5:11 pm I tried to convert it per part into a solid, but had to cancel it because it was delayed for too long. a small test mesh resulted in confusing lines converted to techdraw.
I think I tried this once. IIRC, the individual facets of the mesh were all depicted in the drawing.
I don't know enough about mesh functions to even guess at how big a job this is.

So where does this mesh origin from? Maybe there are other options to transfer it to FreeCAD

thank you for your feedback. I guess it makes sense to work with a workaround.
I would dimension it with draft in the 3d window, save it as a screenshot and with

import into techdraw

I searched the web for hours for a step or file, but only found a mesh
Re: (WORKAROUND) Is it possible to dimension a mesh in techdraw?
I don't think it is sensible to support meshes in TechDraw. You would either have the drawing full of tesselation lines or you would have to do some reverse engineering to decide which lines are relevant and which come from tesselated curved shapes. But the latter is not TechDraws job, but something for a dedicated workbench.
Similar with this concrete issue. If there are artefacts in the result of ShapeFromMesh, then they have to be investigated outside of TechDraw.

A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

In v0.21 you can use TechDraw_ActiveView for this.thomas-neemann wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 5:03 am thank you for your feedback. I guess it makes sense to work with a workaround.
