Pocket around a hole don't take effect

Post by jiandingzhe »

As shown in this snapshot, there already exists a hole that is Pocketed from the other side of the wall (thickness is not even), and I want to make a "step" around it by Pocketing Sketch023.

(Though the face is de-facto planar, I still need to create DatumPlane001 to hold Sketch023, otherwise it raises "You need a planar face as support for a sketch".)

When I try to make the "step" by creating a new Pocket using Sketch023, it just take no effect at all, no matter how much length is set. Is it caused that there are limits for holes inside pocket path? If so, how can I create the step around any hole?

I do not understand, Hole is precisely a tool to make a milling around a hole
but maybe also just make the "Reverse" hole
without file, we can not say more

As Papy said, you probably need to reverse the direction of the hole. Use the checkbox in the Pocket operation.

Depending on what you plan to do further to this model it may be easiest to just create the sketch on a standard plane. Move it to where it is wanted. No need to "attach" to anything else.

This is not the paragon of fine modeling practice, but it usually works in simple cases.

I will try the Hole tool.

The file exceeds forum's size limit. I will try to make a smaller demonstration project later.

I made the model in a sequential way and did not change sizes, so possibly not TNP?

I'm using a very new 0.2 series version that is downloaded one week ago.
The file exceeds forum's size limit so I just give a screenshot. I will try to make a smaller demonstration project later.
