(WORKAROUND) User error when mirroring and rotating?

thanks, it is working. if I only make the two parts into one compound, the colors remain. will from now on create a compound after each mirroring. if this creates new problems, I'll report back here

An additional solution would be to create a clone of the original object, and hide the original object. Then rotate the clone, not the original object
