Display Issue

Post by Dogman »

I am a new user for both raspberry pi and recently installed FreeCAD.

I have a raspberry Pi 4, 8GB that runs from a 2TB USB drive. It is running the current 32 bit raspberry O/S (Bullseye)
FreeCAD is version .19. - I should have enough RAM and more than enough disk space for FreeCAD.

The installation appeared to succeed, in that I could access menus and select items from the menu and move the mouse at will around the screen.
BUT, when I selected - new file, as soon as I moved the mouse into the drawing screen, the screen displayed a jagged diagonal pattern where 1/2 og the screen was totally black and the other part remaining normal.

This did not freeze the application to the extent that I still access menus, and exit the programunder mouse control.
However, it did render the application useless.

After reading about others who experienced video issues, I allocated 192MB to my GPU but that didn't fix the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC you need to use the 64bit version of the OS to get freecad running
