Assembly 3: Link constraint using point in sketch

Post by FCuser0 »

I struggle using Assembly 3. Basically, I would like to align two parts by placing a "point" in one part on a line in another part. The problem is that I cannot select the point in the imported part (I also don't see it). It basically is the center of an arc.

Here is a screenshot of the sketch (left) and the part (right).

Adding constraints in Assembly using visible faces and edges works. But how can I use such a center point as reference?

I guess the solution must be simple, but I can't find it...

Can you share your file?
I can only see one part?
where is the other one?

Unfortunately these points are not visible by design viewtopic.php?style=3&t=44699

But you can use Datum point after selecting the arc and using its "center of curvature".

Doesn't have to be a point.
Can be a circle in existing sketch (use construction geometry to not interfere with sketch,
or... even create separate sketch (inside active body) just for that.
Any of these can be used to create Assembly3 elements...

Thanks for the quick reply. I added a datum point, and then it worked.
