Some GUI issues on version 0.21.0

Post by davecoventry »

I normally usually clone my build from git, but recent changes have made it difficult to use, forcing me back to the stable release.

FreeCAD is fantastic software and I'm very grateful to be able to use it.

Git version:

Code: Select all

OS: Manjaro Linux (Budgie:GNOME/budgie-desktop)
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.21.0.32478 (Git)
Build type: Unknown
Branch: master
Hash: 249829913bc6c01fd7811c0fee4d01291fdb26d9
Python 3.10.9, Qt 5.15.8, Coin 4.0.1, Vtk 9.1.0, OCC 7.6.3
Locale: English/South Africa (en_ZA)
Stable version:

Code: Select all

OS: Manjaro Linux (Budgie:GNOME/budgie-desktop)
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.20.2.29603 (Git) AppImage
Build type: Release
Branch: (HEAD detached at 0.20.2)
Hash: 930dd9a76203a3260b1e6256c70c1c3cad8c5cb8
Python 3.10.8, Qt 5.15.4, Coin 4.0.0, Vtk 9.1.0, OCC 7.6.3
Issue 1:

It's possibly not clear on the screenshot, but sometimes the box obscures the pick point.

Issue 2:
On version 0.20.2, I can call another workbench with a shortcut.
For example, if I am in the Part Workbench and I press M,V then the 'Move' action is instantiated without needing to change to the Draft Workbench.

Issue 3:
In 0.20.2 editing with the 'Placement' dialog pressing 'Enter' will apply the changes and close the dialog.

This has been removed in 0.21.0 and I often forget to explicitly close the box, thus losing all my changes.

Not a big deal: merely a little irritating.

Many thanks on an outstanding piece of software!

Nevertheless could you briefly describe the issues you have encountered with the recent changes, please?
