Microsoft Store

Post by xtemp09 »

I clicked the following link:

https://apps.microsoft.com/store/search/freecad

Who are Lambert Studio, Darren studio, developeredition and highlimiteds?

https://wiki.freecad.org/ does not say anything about Microsoft Store.

Somebody trying to make some easy money I guess.

I'm no legal eagle but I guess that the FPA (@yorik) should take action towards Microsoft and that 'publisher' with a
notice to cease and desist.

The license allows redistributing and even selling freecad so it's not really illegal to do this, it is kind of a scam though and I think it goes against MS Store terms of service. It would be ideal to have an official FreeCAD on that store, it could even have a symbolic 5 USD price as a way to support development, there are several FOSS apps that do this.
