Using the Sketchup component in Freecad

Post by sarmo490 »

hi everyone
Previously I used Sketchup to create 3d models, and I had a lot of 3d components in Sketchup format.

My question is, does FreeCAD support the 3d Sketchup format? If so, how do you do it?

Sorry I'm asking too general, because I'm just learning this program.

As far as the Sketchup-to-blender section of the toolchain goes, I have seen a tutorial which gives much more info on the export from sketchup and does so in a way that preserves material definitions (if you've been using colour in sketchup to mark which geometry belongs to separate items). It might take some looking through my old bookmarks to find it though.
