I made all plies via boolean operations to ensure full geometric fit, but apparently this does not lead to 'lamination' during the build of the compound.

The wobbly thing is the interlayer. The gently sloped thing is the glass ply that sees the pressure and holds the Z-constraint. The flat plate is the un-loaded face sliding in the X- and Y- constraints. I have applied the pressure on the surface that has the boundaries that hold the constraint in Z-direction, else it would fly off into space.
I assume I need to define ties between the surfaces but then how do I ensure contact is made?

3 Cubes (t=12+1,5+12 mm), 2 different materials (glass+pla).
Put the cubes into a BooleanFragments (mode=Compsolid), upgrade to Compound for FEM.
For a good resolution of the interlayer you get a lot of cells (60000 in this case).
Hope that helps.
