Can not install Snap 0.20 on Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS

Post by founder »

I downloaded FreeCAD_0.20.2-2022-12-27-conda-Linux-x86_64-py310.AppImage

When I double click on it: The snap store opens and on top is a message:

Failed to install: not supported

From what site?

It seems from the name that you have downloaded the AppImage and not the Snap package, they are different.

If you have downloaded the AppImage it is simple a matter to make it executable setting the exec flag using your "file manager" and launch it.

Snap and AppImages work similar but they are different, so Snap Packager probably don't know how to do with an AppImage.

Thanks, now it works!

But every *.DWG file, I try to open, creates a QCAD error.

I tested with DWG files from different persons.
Here an example what causes the QCAD error:
