If you add the "web" in the URL the old logo shows up, so it seems to be a modified file I guess?

Yeah, that theme has several PNG files in place with our logo -- so it must really be a combination of a setting and having the file in place.

one observation, impact TBC, on the change of the wiki:
since the 1st of Feb, following minor changes on already translated pages, randomly, html tags are added to pages.
we can determine them by the "over weight" they take, if I can say that.

and in the source code of the translated page, we have this adding:

I just noticed there is a "delete cookies" button on the forum itself:

It might not be because of the domain name change, but because of the wiki version change done a couple of weeks ago. It might be something the mediawiki project decided to add. In any case, it does not seem to cause really a problem, right? At least not a big one... In any case I couldn't find anything on our side that would cause that.

Indeed I remember I did that manually for the elegance theme, there didn't seem to be a way to do another way. And the elegance theme was copied over from previous version. The prosilver theme is built-in so we didn't copy over. Thanks for fixing, whoever it was! (@chennes I suppose :) )

Yes please!!! Elegance seems to me the best place to start as it is "similar" in colors to the FreeCAD colors, and it seems well used and supported and has all the useful features (notifications, unread count, etc) but if you have a better idea, including how to add a dark theme, etc, fire away!

in term of reading for the moment, no, in term of extra weight of the page (alourdir), it's not minor.
what will be the impact at the end of the day on all the wiki, no idea. ant it is not systematic, why? it's an open question.

if it's the version of mediawiki, can we compare with other wikis using the same version?

On the default template it still displays the "phpBB forum software" logo instead of the FreeCAD logo.

Could it be, that the the bandwidth is throttled? Since a few day, the forum is really slow. Also i saw, that there a damn much users online (>250). I can imaging, that on a specific amount of traffic per month, the bandwidth will be throttled.

I only noticed the "slowness" starting March 17, 2023. Prior to that no problems. I hope it gets fixed.

Perhaps archive real old post. Perhaps they can still be available in an archive database someone can view.

But why all of a sudden the slow down?

Apparently we've been under a DDoS attack. This is now over, and we're looking at what we could do to prevent this in the future.
Also, the FPA is also looking at putting some money in to give more power and bandwidth to the forum and wiki.
