Re: Help for first steps within the wiki

Post by onekk »

Hello.

I'm trying to make a new page about "Part Design basic Tutorial" that is intended for version 0.19 and higher,

I have read:

WikiPages

The page will incorporate new workflow using a more "modern way" of sketching the examples:

https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Basic_Part_ ... torial_019

And the relative page discussing the addition:

https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=72267

I have tried to copy and modify the original v0.17 tutorial page, but I have some questions:
  • Original page has tags for translations:

I have to delete them or I have to leave them?

WikiPages wil say to not add them so I deleted them.
  • How to add images?
  • it is safe to reuse images from the original page or it is better to copy then, changing names so they are independent from the original page.
And probably much more.

Is this the right place to ask or it is better to make a new post?

See WikiPages#Graphics.

Is your end goal to replace the original page?

IMO it is better to create a new topic, or add to this existing topic: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=72267

Thanks.

No need to make new post now. As you have explained what I need now.

If I have further questions, I will ask in the linked thread.

Thanks again and regards.

Re: Translation syntax

Request: Example code in the "Please be aware of the translations" found here: https://wiki.freecad.org/index.php?titl ... id=1354148

E.g. in a format like this:

Code: Select all

Ways of making a link with BBCode:
Correct: [url="https://forum.freecad.org/"]FreeCAD forum[/url]
Not correct: <url="https://forum.freecad.org/">FreeCAD forum</url>
Right now, that text is scaring me off from making substantial edits

"When will I even see it if I mess up the translation stuff? Will I ever?"

If you work with a translated document the changes are visible immediately ;)

The correct tags for the wiki look like the following:

Code: Select all
