Great!! Thats what real engineering is!!
BTW: Think, Juist is a fine place, to realize freecad projects ;)

Centrifugal Pump components for experimental validation of numerical results.

The starting point was the fluid zone of the pump.

FreeCAD was used to create the solid parts around the fluid:
- The volute casing in two parts, sent for CNC Machining made from aluminium blocks.
- The impeller, 3D printed
- Shaft nut and shaft sleeve, also CNC machined from aluminium.

The parts were to be mounted on an existing pump (shaft, motor...).
Here it is half-mounted to see inside:

And the test bench fully mounted:

My Techdraw drawings are way too horrible for me to show :D.
Part and PartDesign Workbenches used all the way, with ''initial bodies'' used in PartDesign, where I had to learn the hard way that you do not sketch on an existing face, it will break later.

Ha, another victim of Topological Naming Problem;)

Great work! It always great see FreeCAD in a research project.

This project shows some analogy to FreeCAD: You must not attach anything to faces, or it will break sooner or later  .

Rather niche usage of FreeCAD: designing how veneer pattern will look on a finished part:

Hello Freecad Forum,
Some time ago I made a simple tray-table (as I think it could be called) and thought I should share (I have shared a couple of other things earlier as an individual topic, but I really think these should have been posted under this topic. Apologies - but rather later than never, i guess:-)

Firstly I drew the Freecad model - as can be seen on the screen in the background on the second picture... and, Secondly, I made the tray-table in real life:-) The table is made in dimensions that fit the Danish Architect Finn Juhls tray in glass and teak (as shown on the first picture), so it can be put on top of the tray-table.

I made the tray-table using teak wood (quite expensive by the way) to match the designer tray and then used screws to joint each of the different wood pieces (also used glue). After I glued in a piece of cylinder shaped teak to cover the screw.

Kindly, KFMadsen
PS. And thanks for the totally awesome "From Freecad To The Real World" Topic. Impressive to see what people can draw and make in the real world.
