New Stemfie Workbench

Post by bitacovir »

Stemfie Workbench is a new workbench that generates Stemfie parts parametrically.

The developer (Ander) does not speak English, so I offer him to publish the announcement here. This project started in the Stemfie´s Group in Telegram, so It involves collaboration of many Stemfie and FreeCAD fans.

They would like to see this workbench in the Addon Manager. If you guys give some guides I could transmit that instructions to the developer.

This is a cool project. I remember there was a post about this in the past, I'm glad to see it has become something real.
To add the WB in the add-on manager, everything is here : https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-addons

I miss time ATM, but will see if I can give some small contributions.

Awesome, consider also using PEP8 formatting and not using spaces in file names. Also, changing the source comments to English and adding translation (See Translating an external workbench

I'm very thankful and impressed by the work of Ander and Rafael, and all the STEMFIE and FreeCAD enthusiast helping out with this project.

This STEMFIE FreeCAD Workbench makes it much easier to create parts parametrically according to the STEMFIE standard. :-D

Hi. I'm just trying out the workbench. Am I right in seeing that the many parts are not available (such as Fasteners)?

Invite to 2023 FreeCAD (and Free CAE) Users Conference

Post by Varnu01 »

Good Day @Stemfie3D

My name is Varnu Govender, I am the assistant to Dr du Plessis at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

We are organizing the 1st Annual FreeCAD (and Free CAE) Users Conference, which is set to take place in Early 2023.

I have taken interest in your Workbench, and I would love if you could present your work at the conference.

You are welcome to present your workbench in the following manner:
  • Introduction/Overview of your Workbench
  • Run-down on how the workbench operates through the user interface and backend.
  • A tutorial demonstrating the full functionality of the workbench.
  • A showcase of something that has been created/modelled in the workbench.
In addition to this, if you know somebody that might be interested in presenting their work during the conference, please could you refer them to me (@Varnu01.)

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards
Varnu Govender
