[Poll] Remove 'Edit Mode' icon from toolbar.

Idea is to remove 'Edit mode' from the toolbar so it will only be in the menu 'Edit/edit mode'

Goal : reducing the tool bars size to improve user experience.

An option to have a separate toolbar could be more interesting.

If in future would be possible to join toolbars making "atomic toolbars" that group functions and could be composed to customize your toolbars, would be a good move.

It's already possible to do custom toolbars, joining existing toolbars has no use IMO, you can just put one besides the other.

For example in part design: if you select an edge some icons are irrellevant like pad, grove, mirror, etc etc but others make sense like chamfer.

we can talk about making them insensitive, but please not about hiding. A toolbar, which changes on each selection would drive me crazy.

if that's what you want I suggest removing those toolbars altogether and use the task dialog instead, that one has context aware command suggestion. I would hate it if PD's buttons moved all around depending on what I have selected so it's a big no to that suggestion from me.

Ok, I agree that disappearing tools is not good for consistent UI.

Icons all already disappearing, when you change WB.

But I agree with you that once selected a WB having icon disappearing when I select a tool is confusing

I'm not new here but I don't get it, what is edit mode?
