What is the policy for double posting in the forum?

I don't mean replicating a post in different subforums



I mean something like

No official policy that I know of and haven't seen anything getting enforced.
I say use it when it makes sense but don't abuse it and try to generally avoid it

1) Answers usually come fast from the very busy forum regulars
2) We have quite some traffic here in the forum, so it is possible that things are overlooked

Adrian is very right. Here is my interpretation of "when it makes sense": If you get no response to a question after a couple of days, you should check if you have done everthing you could do, i.e.
- give a detailed description
- attach a minimal FreeCAD file
- attach images
- describe the final goal you want to reach
- add your FreeCAD infos.

If you have done all this, then you can always find some additional information which is worth adding, which will bring the topic back to attention.
