Interesting, I think China is trying to move away from western vendors and are therefore moving towards FOSS, not long ago it was circulating in the news that they would be migrating millions of government computers to linux (and hardware from Chinese manufacturers). This might be influencing this, plus they have an insanely high population.
Interesting how such a tyranic government is adopting FOSS earlier than most other countries.

Hi,
First of all, this is not my project and I am not associated with it in any way.
https://www.welcome-werkstatt.de/projekte/trudetrailer

Its buried a bit under links but this cool project uses freecad.
Under 'Hier geht's zum Download ' you find .zip files of the FC-parts and drawings done in FC.

HoWil

On the occasion of the release of FreeCAD 0.20, I wrote an article about this software and it was published today. Unfortunately, it's in Polish but Google Translate should let you understand most of it if you are interested. The article discusses current strengths and weaknesses of FreeCAD and summarizes plans for future development. Its main goal is to encourage the readers to give FreeCAD a try. Among Polish engineers, this software still has not so good reputation and I hope that this article will change it at least to a small degree.

Many thanks to @ppemawm and @OficineRobotica for letting me use the screenshots of their awesome projects for this article.

Enjoy reading :-)

Quite old paper (2017):
Semi-automatic design for disassembly strategy planning: an augmented reality approach
ARDET interface, whose architecture is described in Figure 2, is developed in
Python language in order to allow an easier interaction with the libraries of th e 3DMS and an easy integration with
the open-source Python language based FreeCAD necessary to model the virtual 3D parts and manage the
assemblies.

Today I would not give many stars for FreeCAD 0.17 either.
