#1 = IfcStyledItem(#2, (#3), $)
#2 = IfcFacetedBrep... (for example)
#3 = IfcPresentationStyleAssignment((#4))
#4 = IfcSurfaceStyle... (which is a child of IfcPresentationStyle)

In IFC4, you must do:

#1 = IfcStyledItem(#2, (#4), $)
#2 = IfcFacetedBrep... (for example)
#4 = IfcSurfaceStyle... (which is a child of IfcPresentationStyle)

Basically skip the useless in-between step of IfcPresentationStyleAssignment.
Excellent! Thanks a lot
*EDIT* done in git commit a150f8a54

1 Q, with the heavy development in BlenderBIM, what do you think about FC's role and development ?

@paullee - Blender will always be capable of things that FreeCAD cannot. Similarly, FreeCAD will also be always capable of things that Blender cannot. I see both tools as useful complements in a toolbox, and it would do good to share as much of the things in common like IFC/BCF that we already are and are continuing to do :)
