FreeCad basiccourse

I am starting learning Freecad basic course on Youtube.
Where can I download the grindplate file to follow the actions by doing them.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

The FreeCAD team maintains the wiki with its Tutorials, not youtube. There may be various channels claiming to be "The" FreeCAD channel, but none of them really is. If they need to pretend this, I would already guess that they need it to cover poor quality.

Ok. I followed the link to Tutorials.
Creating a simple part with PartDesign.
Choose part design.
Now it say ; FreeCAD will start with toolbars at the top, the combo view to the left and the 3D view at the right..
I got the combo view but no 3D view.
I can't select the create body icon, because it is not there.
So I can't start the tutorial.
Why?

I believe you are referring to one of Flowwie's videos and I think his video's are quite good. He has both an English Youtube channel called 'FreeCad Academy' and a German channel named Flowwie's Corner. The part maybe in his github repo. https://github.com/Flowwie/flowwie-freecad.

I found the Grind plate video was particularly interesting because of the collaboration with Sliptonic. The Sliptonic video takes the model Flowwie created into the Path Work bench to generate Gcode and then cuts the part out on his CNC mill.

But, too Chris's point, With FreeCad YouTube video's it's the good, the bad and the ugly. But they can supplement your learning, just be sure to reference the wiki and tutorials as you progress.

Learning to 3D print and run my CNC machine with Freecad, gave me the courage to finally jump off the sinking F*360 ship.

Thanks for the advice.
If, like me, you never did something like Freecad and have no experience at all, there are a lot of problems.
What I do now is following a tutorial.
If the program does something else than described in the tutorial, you"r lost.
So before I started I changed the background color.
I like to have that color back because I can't see the grid anymore.
I tried reset, but no result.
Please can someone give me a hint how to set ik back?

In such cases you should add your FreeCAD infos.

You can set the color in Preferences->Display->Colors.

Seems the colors switchen after restart.
I had the chance to draw 1 part by following the tutorial.
After finishing I needed to close it and can't find it anymore.
So, just start again.
By opening a new screen I get this.
