I'm still learning, so this may already be handled?
I'm not keen on the dimension extent lines which indicate where they are coming from. I prefer a more minimal approach and allow the viewer to extrapolate.
I thought I'd found a way of not drawing these connecting lines, but am unable to find now (*see last comment). I have updated to latest FreeCAD, so the feature may have been older, and as I see there are a few options in the online docs which are not in the preferences (Extension Gap Factor).
So...
In TechDraw Preferences Colours I was thinking of adding Dimension Text colour and Dimension Arrow colour as well as the existing for the lines...?
i.e. I'd like to make the text and arrows good and dark, whilst pushing the lines back to a focus...?

I do see that if a dimension is selected then in the View tab I can go to Dimension Format and change the Rendering Extent. Changing it from Normal to Confined is close, but fussy me would still like a little extents line
Sorry for ramble!

Re: TechDraw Preferences Colours
Which version is "latest FreeCAD"? I have Extension Gap Factor here in v0.21. I think the standards call for dimension lines to all be "continuous, thin", and I don't recall any distinction between the dimension line itself and the extension lines, so what you are looking for is non-standard (but I am not an expert). If I wanted to diminish the extension lines, I would set the gap to a large factor.RedTorch wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 8:25 am I thought I'd found a way of not drawing these connecting lines, but am unable to find now (*see last comment). I don't have a use to separate colours for text and arrows, but I certainly have no objection to you added them.

Re: TechDraw Preferences Colours
Hi,
In Preferences you can only set the max to 99.99, my first try came in at around 200 in the View tab.
Anything over is hidden, so I started setting at 2000, but a -1 would be nice to not draw? Or use minus numbers to specify length of extension and not offset?

N.B.
I now don't appear to be able to drag the page about in the TechDraw view, can using page scrollbars. Not seeing it as a setting either?
