How to extrude step object in plane intersection?

Post by PelegS »

I've placed a section on a step object. I want to stretch the object by extruding it in the plane intersection.
Is that possible? How?
Thanks!

- In Part workbench: slice apart
- move, e.g. with the transform tool
- Draft workbench: create a FaceBinder on one of the faces
- Part workbench: extrude the FaceBinder.

I've menage to do it, by converting the part to solid, splitting it, transforming one section aside and closing the gap by pulling one face using Trimex from the Draft workbench. I've reached this solution with the help of this video: https://youtu.be/NYmS9IzE11I .
I would like to learn, if there is more elegant solution for this operation.

If it is a step file it is a solid. No need to covert it. ;)
