All sketches dissapear when doing a new extrusion
Hi,
I am following a basic attachment tutorial. Currently I'm stuck at the triangle extrusion step. When I click the protrusion button, all objects in the 3D view disappear. In the 'Report' view, the message 'Recompute failed! Please check report view.' registers. I have attached an image of the model tree including the 3D view before the second extrusion (that of the triangle). Thank you in advance for the help in solving my problem.

There is no triangle extrusion step, perhaps you need to re-read the step.pierredequebec wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 11:57 am Currently I'm stuck at the triangle extrusion step.

Re: All sketches dissapear when doing a new extrusion
Well seen and well said! In the tutorial it says: "Select Pad and make it invisible". I wrongly concluded here that the extrusion must have been done on the triangle. In fact, 'Pad' refers to the protrusion of the rectangle.perhaps you need to re-read the step
Thank you for your help.
Re: All sketches dissapear when doing a new extrusion
There are no extrusions in PD WB, only Pads or Pockets. It will confuse people if you continue to make these references.
I know it's new to you and in a foreign language (most likely) but do try to use the correct terminology.

Re: All sketches dissapear when doing a new extrusion
In the tutorial it says:
This sentence is confusing because it suggests that the extrusion must have been done at this time since the reference to the constraint (with the formula) relates to an extrusion.Draw the triangle, make two sides equal and constrain its length the same way as you did the Pad Length, only this time make the formula "Sketch.Constraints.width/2".

There are NO extrusions in PD WB.
The sentence is clear, it suggests the methodology of using expressions that is all.

@Bance
OK for "Extrusion" versus "Pads" or "Pockets".

While this may seem like it is being pedantic, in the greater CAD world, the term extrude has a more generic meaning.pierredequebec wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 12:34 pm @Bance

But, in FreeCAD, Extrude is an operation specific to the Part workbench. Pad is an operation specific to Part Design workbench. They are similar, but different.
Using the term extrude when discussing FreeCAD Part Design subjects can cause much confusion. Especially for new users.

Re: All sketches dissapear when doing a new extrusion
Your Sketch is not suitable for padding. It has intersections and T-connections. There is no way to determine a correct outer contour.
