I'm trying to do something that's pretty basic and that I know how to do in other CAD packages, but I can't make it work in FreeCAD.
I'm using version 0.20.1. I've download a step file of an Arduino UNO and imported it. I combined it into a single body using a transform, and I've created a simple box. I'd like to create simple cylinders inside the box as standoffs for the board, located at the screw holes on the Arduino.
I would like to select the face of the Arduino and then draw a sketch on the face, so that I can created these new standoffs for the screw holes. I'm able to start to create a sketch on the face, but when I go to draw a circle, I get an error: Recompute failed! Please check report view.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and why I can't sketch on the face of the Arduino body. I did search for this so I apologize if it's already been answered.

Re: Importing .step file and sketching on face
Using the toSketch workbench (see Addon Manager to install)
I deleted what I assume are superfluous Copyarduino_uno001, failed sketch003
Selected a Face on the Body and then clicked on toSketch. You still have to constrain the sketch
There are as @onekk points out ways to do this but I like to think toSketch makes things easy.
