Apparently the new registration doesn't work anymore

We know. Yorik is working on a solution. Too many users have marked the emails coming from the forum as spam, so we are currently banned from further mail distribution, which is needed for the registration.

chrisb wrote: Fri Sep 23, 2022 12:45 pm I don't think a provider looks at the contents of emails, perhaps he isn't even allowed to do so. So he relies on feedback, and if many users mark FreeCAD's mails as spam, then it is spam for the provider.
But if I mark as Spam an email, what is responsible to send to the provider that have sent the email, this "spam notification".

I have thought that is simply a "client side" thing, managed by my "email client" only, so probably it was a wrong assumption.

If problem is solved, good to know.

Too many users have marked the emails coming from the forum as spam
IMO it is the lambda email services like gmail / hotmail et al which use heuristics to detect possible spam activity, NOT individuals flagging spam.

I have seen this kind of thing a couple of years back before I turned off all email filters on my email hosting and set up filters on my email client. Sadly these lamerz "free" services have become the norm to the point where some people to not even understand you can own your own domain name in your email address.
[Last year I tried to sign up for a new broadband account and the guy could not understand my email did not end in gmail.com or something he knew. I said I was not surprised that he did not know every domain name on the planet and had to get quite short with him, that he listened to what I gave him and just noted it as given. ]

Forum replies can look a bit spammy. For example my last notification here had the following subject field :
Reply in "Drill paths. Another broken tool."
Such a thread can run to several pages each emitting the same subject, sometimes in the space of a few hours. I think this can trigger some not-so-intelligent AI.

Is it possible to add something like the comment number to make each subject field unique ?

Reply in "Forum notifications ???"
YIPEE ! I have an email .

Many thanks for the efforts to fix this . I would still suggest consideration of my previous post, to minimise the risk of this reoccurring.

It’s perhaps noticed only if the mail provider’s web front end is used.
