[bug #0004486] Techdraw: Error: detail area contains no geometry

Post by DeepSOIC »

Hi!
I have little idea how to use techdraw. Can anybody help?
I'm trying to insert a detail view, but nothing gets through, even though it seems like it should. And i get a warning:
DVD::execute - Detail - detail area contains no geometry

Here's the file:
baffle mk1 v02 drawing.FCStd
uses Lattice2 and Part-o-magic addons

After trying this on a cube and re-trying it on my project, i'm convinced it's a bug, as it does work with a cube of the same scale (1x1x1 m).

Why do you use a Simple Copy of a ShapeBinder ? :?:

If i use directly Module001 in source projection, it's fine ;)

In View001
I just set Source projection to : Module001
and Direction to : X0.00 Y-1.00 Z0.00

It isn't a simple copy, and not of a shapebinder. It is a face that i extracted to make a dwg file to send it for CNC-ing (using Lattice2's Sublink feature).

Thank you for showing me that it works with the solid, now i can complete the drawing. It seems like the detail view does not work for faces... i'll check the theory later.

investigated it a bit. Seems like detail view doesn't work for any object that is not a solid. I have tried a sketch, and a part-extruded sketch with "solid" unchecked. Merely changing "Solid" property of the extrusion makes the detail view work and not work.
