Ticket #6115 - Path toolbox operation order

Post by levente »

Is there any way to change operation order when several operations created under job->operations? Drag and drop doesn't seem to work.

Open the "Job" by right clicking, and select the "Workplan" tab. Rearrange to your liking.

til now, II also tried reordering operations the way described by levente. (double click operations, and follow instructions saying 'drag and drop')
Result: the moved operation disappears in the list and is somehow detached from the 'operations' folder.

As a perfect workaround exists, can one of the experts tell if this is worth creating an issue in the tracker ?

Anything that is "advertised" but does not work correctly is worth a bug report.

However, for me the drag and drop works just fine, as well as the job workplan edit method.

Therefore I suggest more discussion here before creating a bug report.

If you can add a sample file showing the problem that would be a good start.

Hi,
I attached 2 freecad files (fc1_before, fc1_after) - one before doing the operation, one saved after

The issue can be reproduced this way

1) Screenshot 1. double-click on operations
2) Screenshot 2. drag profile downwards and drop
3) Screenshot 3. click OK (profile has disappeared from list after dropping)
4) Screenshot 4. ComboView shows 'profile' detached from 'Operations'

It is a known issue, you may search tracker and forum for it. If no tracker entry exists, please create one.

You can reorder the operations in the Job. Double click the job and switch to the Workplan tab; use the arrow key for reordering.

Interesting. I tried the experiment several times with very recent Windows versions of FC, both Conda and LibPack compilations, and the move worked perfectly every time.

No hint of any problem. No messages.

Hi Gene, Chris
the issue happes every time for me.
meanwhile I found that editing the Operations Group property allows to put back the 'detached' in the operations group.

I'll try around for a couple of day's - then create an issue in tracker

Please understand that I am not trying to prevent you from creating a tracker issue. I am just adding color and depth to the problem. :)
