Hiya,
Noodling around on Arch WB:
Thought I saw somewhere someone (some time ago) saying that is it possible to do a heat loss analysis in Arch.
But I cant find tools or even help wrt this.
I have my building (walls, windows, doors) + I have created Space Objects for each defined area of interest.
I want to assign wall, floor and ceiling R values (or materials) and work out heat loss and air flow (draughtiness) for each room (possibly using the Space Object as a basis).
I have tried to use the Material editor to assign the timber structure and cladding to the walls, but there is no obvious place to add wall insulation In the Materials Editor (as it is contiguous with the structure within the wall not a separate layer). Also not sure whether these materials are pysical-model attributes or just IFC-style descriptors?
I thought of adding it as a notional layer with an appropriate R value - but this doesn't seem to be an option.
I guess I can import individual spaces into PartDesign as a precursor to doing a FEM WB analysis, but that will get pretty messy when I have to allocate different materials to the walls, windows, doors, ceiling and floor.
Is there an easier workflow for this in Arch....?
Cheers,

I also thought there was a demonstration of the same by someone ...

Hi,
if this is even possible in FC, there can be potentially two places to look:

- some add on macro does some basic analytical calculations based on your walls and windows
- FEM analysis with FEM WB
