Even if you're not interested in microscopy, if you want to see some FreeCAD animations, take a look at how I use FreeCAD for teaching in the latest PUMA microscope video out now here: https://youtu.be/e2ErTfGYFaY
If you ARE interested in microscopy, consider taking part in the PUMA microscope online poll here: https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxHJBX5Z ... us_ijaI_4J

My latest YouTube video contains some screen-cast follow-along-type FreeCAD tutorials which may be helpful to those who want to get started with FreeCAD for modelling. The actual video is about how to customise the Open Source 3D printed PUMA microscope using a specific example to make it practical. See: https://youtu.be/CPHyLTHID6g

Part 2 of the 2-part FreeCAD design and 3D printing videos describing how to customise the PUMA microscope has been published here:
https://youtu.be/2sWF_NHPzn8
This one deals with 3D printing, assmbling the parts and using the new eyepiece holder and so completes the journey 'from FreeCAD to the real world'.

The latest PUMA microscope video is out and shows the improved design (in FreeCAD) of the socket for the 30 mm Abbe condenser lens (shown here with 'moat' and flexures) as well introducing a new polariser ring. See the full video here: https://youtu.be/80MFESeIbnc

The latest PUMA 3D printed open source microscope video is out now and shows how this little adaptor - designed in FreeCAD, realised by 3D printing - can make it easy to access the Fourier aperture of the scope for some advanced experiments.

And, in case you missed it, here is the PUMA write up on the FreeCAD blog: https://blog.freecad.org/2023/02/13/a-r ... h-freecad/

Learn how to increase image stability at high magnifications with the new 3D-printed exoskeleton stabiliser module for the PUMA open source microscope. See: https://youtu.be/d8tMtWFhNY4
Project GitHub page: https://github.com/TadPath/PUMA
As a side note - I saw a YT video recently where a prominent 3DP youtuber reviewed FreeCAD and had difficulties making a simple planting pot. I don't understand why people find modelling in FreeCAD so 'hard'. I am like a fish in water with FreeCAD - perhaps because FreeCAD is my native 3D modelling language? (i.e. I'm not coming to FreeCAD from having used some other package in the past).
